Stormbringer (6 g ex Riva Royale by Royal Applause) became the 42nd stakes winner for Dutch Art (Pivotal) when he won Friday’s Prix Hampton (Listed, 1000m) at Chantilly. Trained by Gavin Hernon, Stormbringer had placed at Listed level previously and on Friday defeated favourite Berneuil (Lope De Vega) by a length and a quarter. Ken Colt (Kendargent) was a short neck further back in third. Bought for 190,000gns by Paul Harley at the 2017 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale having been purchased for 50,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 2 the year prior, Stormbringer is a half-brother to Hong Kong stakes placed geldings Exciting Dream (Bertolini) and Let Me Fight (Hawk Wing). Dutch Art’s stakes winners include three Group 1 winners in Slade Power, Gardswood and Mabs Cross. His 2021 fee at Cheveley Park Stud was set as Private. 

 

Group 3 placed previously, the Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained Sheraz (4 g ex Shemiyla by Dalakhani) won his first stakes race when the dominant winner of Friday’s Prix La Moskowa (Listed, 3000m) at Chantilly on Friday to give his sire, Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) his 80th stakes winner. The gelding pulled clear to a four and a half length victory over Karlstad (Stormy River) with another length back to Lord Achilles (Rio De La Plata) in third. A homebred for the Aga Khan, Sheraz is one of five winners and becomes the first stakes winner for Group 3 winner Shemiyla (Dalakhani). Sea The Stars stood for a fee of €150,000 at Giltown Stud in Ireland this year.
