Gleneagles, Galileo, Brazen Beau and Kodiac all add new stakes winners on Sunday
15 for Gleneagles
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Velocidad (2 f ex Astrantia by Dansili) provided Gleneagles (Galileo) with his 15th stakes winner when she won Sunday’s Airlie Stud Stakes (Gr 2, 6f) at the Curragh. Velocidad broke her maiden on debut at Fairyhouse last month and on Sunday pulled clear in the closing stages to record a two and a quarter length victory over the Aidan O’Brien-trained Yet (War Front). Cheerupsleepyjean (Starspangledbanner), who finished third in the Queen Mary Stakes (Gr 2, 5f) at Royal Ascot 10 days ago, occupied that same position once again.
Gleneagles has produced five juvenile stakes winners with Velocidad joining Royal Dornoch, Royal Lytham, Shock Action and Southern Hills.
Velocidad remains unbeaten!

338 for Galileo
Coolmore’s peerless sire Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) sired his 338th stakes winner on Sunday when Amhran Na Bhfiaan (4 c ex Alluring Park by Green Desert) won the Curragh Cup (Gr 2, 1m6f). Bred by Lodge Park Stud, Amhran Na Bhfiaan broke his maiden at Dundalk in April. Having his eighth career start, the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt went straight to the front and maintained that position throughout, pulling clear in the closing stages to post a seven length victory over the Lloyd Williams-owned Pondus (Sea The Moon), who started the 11-8 favourite.
Amhran Na Bhfiaan is a brother to Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) winner Was and Group Three winner Douglas Macarthur being out of Listed placed mare Alluring Park (Green Desert). His second dam is Group One winner Park Express (Ahonoora), dam of five-time Group One winner and sire New Approach (Galileo). This is also the family of Newmarket Handicap (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Zoutori (Zoustar).

14 for Brazen Beau
Windstormblack (2 c ex Josefa Goya by Sakhee’s Secret) took out Sunday’s Premio Primi Passi (Gr 3, 1200m) at San Siro and in doing so became the 14th stakes winner for Darley’s Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible). Trained by Sebastiano Guerrieri, Wondstormblack started favourite and did not disappoint, pulling away to a five length victory over Baghed (Twilight Son). Windstormblack was bought by Scuderia Semeso for 17,500gns at last year’s Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale and he is out of a winning half-sister to Group Three winner Intrepid Jack (Compton Place).
Brazen Beau’s stakes winners are headed by Group 1 winning juvenile On The Bubbles and Group 2 winners Pretty Brazen and Colada.
67 for Kodiac
The White Birch Farm-owned and Jean-Claude Rouget-trained American Bridge (4 f ex More Than Sotka by Dutch Art) became the 67th stakes winner for Kodiac (Danehill) when she won Sunday’s Premio del Guibileo (Gr 3, 2000m) at San Siro. Having raced towards the rear of the 11-runner field, American Bridge took the lead with 200 metres left to travel and scored a comfortable two and a quarter length victory over German raider No Limit Credit (Night Of Thunder).
Based at Tally-Ho Stud in Ireland, Kodiac’s stakes winners include his Group One winning son Hello Youmzain who will shuttle to Cambridge Stud for the first time this spring. He is one of five Group One winners for his sire with Best Solution, Fairyland, Campanelle and Tiggy Wiggy the others.
