Juvenile colt Fearby wins Friday's Dragon Stakes at Sandown for young trainer Ed Bethell
Tweenhills Stud-based sire Havana Gold (Teofilo) sired his ninth stakes winner on Friday when Fearby (2 c ex Coolminx by One Cool Cat) won the Dragon Stakes (Listed, 5f) at Sandown.
Trained by young trainer Ed Bethell, Fearby, who broke his maiden at his second start three weeks ago at Weatherby, tracked the leaders before taking the lead with 200 metres left to run. He then went on to score a dominant five length victory over Mojomaker (Mehmas). The favourite, Kaboo (More Than Ready), was a nose further back in third.
Fearby was bought for just 13,000gns by Culworth Grounds at the 2019 Tattersalls December Foal Sale before making 21,000gns the following year at Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale when bought by his trainer and Blandford Bloodstock and is out of the stakes placed mare Coolminx (One Cool Cat).
