Two for Profitable
Head Mistress (2 f ex Rag And Bone by Street Cry) became the second stakes winner for Darley's first season sire Profitable (Invincible Spirit) when she won Friday's Curragh Stakes (Listed). The Ger Lyons-trained filly took the lead in the closing stages to defeat Loveday (Bungle Inthejungle) by a half length and is now unbeaten in two career starts. Profitable's first stakes winner was the Royal Ascot winner Quick Suzy who won the Queen Mary Stakes (Gr 1, 5f) and his first crop has yielded 16 winners to date. He sits behind Cotai Glory (Exceed And Excel) in the leading first season sires table in Europe by winners.

First for Time Test
The National Stud-based fellow first season sire Time Test (Dubawi) recorded his first stakes winner on Friday when Tardis (2 f ex Twizzell by Equiano) won the St Hugh's Stakes (Listed, 5f) at Newbury. Trained by Michael Bell, Tardis took the lead in the final strides and beat Attagirl (Wootton Bassett) by a head.

Double for Ribchester
Haunui Farm shuttler Ribchester (Iffraaj) sired a double on Friday. Winner number eight came when the Karl Burke-trained Snooze N You Loose (2 f ex Wake Up Call by Noverre) broke her maiden at Nottingham. Having her second career start, Snooze N You Loose beat the William Haggas-trained favourite Serenity (Mastercraftsman) by a length. Later in the afternoon Ribchester sired his ninth winner when the Roger Varian-trained Oh Great (2 c ex Malaspina by Whipper) broke his maiden at Wolverhampton for owners Amo Racing. Ribchester will stand his fourth season at Haunui Farm this year for a fee of NZ$15,000 (plus GST).
