First for Bungle Inthejungle
The Tim Easterby-trained Winter Power (3 f ex Titan Saga by Titus Livius) became the first Group One winner for the Rathasker Stud-based sire Bungle Inthejungle (Exceed And Excel) when she won the Nunthorpe Stakes (Gr 1, 5f) at York on Friday. The King Power Racing-owned Winter Power took the lead with 400 metres to travel and did enough to hold off the challenge of Emaraaty Ana (Shamardal) and scored by a length and a quarter. Dragon Symbol (Cable Bay) was another half length away in third. Bungle Inthejungle stood for a fee of €8,000 in 2021.

210 for Dubawi
The Charlie Abbleby-trained Albahr (2 g ex Falls Of Lara by Street Cry) provided Darley’s Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) with his 210th stakes winner on Friday when the gelding won the Stonehenge Stakes (Listed, 1m) at Salisbury. Under James Doyle, Albahr held Power Of Beauty (Slade Power) and scored by three quarters of a length. Sweeping (Siyouni) was another six lengths back in third. Albahr is out of Street Cry (Machiavellian) mare Falls Of Lara making him a half-brother to the James Cummings-trained Doncaster Mile (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Cascadian (New Approach). Dubawi, who has a strike rate of 15.1 per cent stakes winners to runners, is the sire of 44 Group One winners including Too Darn Hot who shuttles to Kelvinside where his fee this year is $44,000 (inc GST).
