The Donnacha O’Brien-trained Don Julio (2 c ex Remember Alexander by Teofilo) provided his sire, Caravaggio (Scat Daddy) with his 16th winner when he broke his maiden over seven and a half furlongs at Tipperary on Thursday.

Having his fifth career start, the colt ran on well in the closing stages to beat Hul Al Bah Loo (Raven’s Pass) by a length and three quarters.

Coolmore’s Caravaggio is currently sitting third in the leading first season sires table by prize money in Great Britain and Ireland behind Galileo Gold (Paco Boy) and Profitable (Invincible Spirit).

Don Julio meanwhile is catalogued as Lot 308 at next week’s Tattersalls August Sale.
