Three for New Bay
The Roger Varian-trained Bayside Boy (2 c ex Alava by Anabaa) won Saturday’s Champagne Stakes (Gr 2, 7f) at Doncaster becoming the third stakes winner for New Bay (Dubawi). Bred by Ballylinch Stud, Bayside Boy beat HM The Queen’s Reach For The Moon (Sea The Stars) by a head and has now won two of his three career starts. New Bay’s first stakes winners were New Mandate and Saffron Beach and the son of Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) has two crops of racing age. 

 

First for Shalaa
No Speak Alexander (3 f ex Rapacity Alexander by Dandy Man) became the first Group One winner for Arrowfield shuttler Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) when she won the Matron Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) at Leopardstown on Saturday. The Jessie Harrington-trained filly scored by a neck from Pearls Galore (Invincible Spirit), with Mother Earth (Zoffany) third. Shalaa has sired two other stakes winners to date in Shaquero and Listed scorer King Shalaa. He has also sired five stakes performers in Legal Attack, Hunnam, Tayla’s Moment, Nice For What and Saeiqa. 


54 for Showcasing
The Ger Lyons-trained Panama Red (2 f ex Allegation by Lawman) handed former Haunui Farm shuttler Showcasing (Oasis Dream) with his 54th stakes winner when she won the Ingabelle Stakes (Listed, 7f) at Leopardstown. Panama Red kept on well in the closing stages to beat favourite, Limiti Di Greccio (Elzaam), by a half length. The Whitsbury Manor Stud-based sire has sired three Group One winners to date in Advertise, Quiet Reflection and Mohaather. 

 

Two for The Gurkha
The Team Valor-raced Invite (3 f ex Katiyra by Peintre Celebre) became the second stakes winner for The Gurkha (Galileo) when she won Saturday's Stand Cup Stakes (Listed, 1m4.5f) at Chester.  The Gurkha stood at Coolmore Stud for a fee of €5,000 in 2021. 

 

23 for Wootton Bassett
The stakes winners keep coming for Coolmore Australia shuttler Wootton Bassett (Iffraaj) and, on Saturday, he sired his 23rd stakes winner when the Ger Lyons-trained Atomic Jones (2 c ex Loyale by Turtle Bowl) remained unbeaten in the Champions Juvenile Stakes (Gr 2, 1m) at Leopardstown. The colt took the lead in the closing stages and prevailed by a head from Stone Age (Galileo). Wootton Bassett has shuttled to Australia for the first time this year and has seven crops of racing age in Australia with his progeny including four Group One winners in Almanzor, Audarya, Wooded and Incarville. 

 

46 for Zoffany
In winning Saturday’s Paddy Power Stakes (Gr 3, 1m4f) at Leopardstown, Camorra (4 g ex Mauralakana by Muthathir), who was bred by Bob Scarborough, became the 46th stakes winner for Zoffany (Dansili). The gelding stayed on well to defeat stablemate Thunder Kiss (Night Of Thunder) by a neck. Coolmore Stud’s Zoffany died at the age of 13 earlier this year.
