Dubawi sires his 215th stakes winner and Highland Reel adds a new first crop winner

215 for Dubawi
The Aidan O’Brien-trained Concert Hall (2 f ex Was by Galileo) won Sunday’s Weld Park Stakes (Gr 3, 7f) at the Curragh to hand Darley’s Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) his 215th stakes winner. The filly ran on in the closing stages under Seamie Heffernan to defeat Sunset Shiraz (Time Test) by a length and take her record to two wins and one placing in five career starts. 

Concert Hall is the ninth stakes winner bred on the Dubawi - Galileo (Sadler's Wells) cross that includes top young stallion Night Of Thunder and world Champion Ghaiyyath.

 

Seven for Highland Reel
Reelemin (2 c ex Rainbow's Arch by Dubawi) became the seventh winner for Swettenham Stud shuttler Highland Reel (Galileo) when he broke his maiden at Ffos Las on Sunday. Trained by Hughie Morrison, Reelemin pulled clear in the closing stages to score a dominant two and a quarter length victory over Hollow Steel (Cotai Glory). Highland reel covered a book of 161 mares at Swettenham Stud last year and his 2021 fee is $16,500 (inc GST).
