The first Northern Hemisphere-bred foal by Group 1 winning shuttler Lucky Vega (Lope De Vega) was born in Ireland this week.

The filly, out of winning mare Grace And Virtue (Iffraaj) form the family of Group 1 winner Golden Horde, was born at Roundhill Stud.

Lucky Vega stands at the Irish National Stud, where his 2023 fee is advertised unchanged at €15,000 for his second season at stud in Europe.

Gary Swift of the Irish National Stud commented: "It's a tremendous start for Lucky Vega, the firepower this horse has been supplied with in his first and second season in top class mares is unprecedented, Yulong have done everything to facilitate him becoming the most exciting young stallion around and he is certainly the one to be on."

Winner of the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes (6f) in 2020, Lucky Vega covered his first book of 108 mares at Yulong in Australia in 2021.
