Cox Plate (Group 1) winner Lys Gracieux will be retired at the end of the year after she runs in the Arima Kinen (Grade 1) on 22 December.

Trainer Yoshito Yahagi confirmed the news to the Japanese media. "The Arima Memorial will be the last run. Jockey is still undecided."

The 5-year-old daughter of Heart's Cry landed last month's Cox Plate by a length and a half from Castlevecchio at her first start in Australia. She will not race before the Arima Kinen, which will be run at Nakayama.
