The final day of the Autumn Sale, reserved for flat bred yearlings, saw an increase in final figures, following the same pattern of the overall sale. A total of 83% of the 176 horses offered changed hands (up 5% compared to 2018), generating a turnover of €1,182,500 (+5%). The average of €8,044 proved stable.

Active around the ring during the first day when notably buying Scarlet Tufty (lot 176) for €120,000, Hubie de Burgh (De Burgh Equine) and Emmanuel de Seroux (Narvick International) went to €45,000 for a yearling by Le Havre (lot 642).

Offered from La Motteraye Consignment, the filly out of Listed winner Rivabella comes from the family of Group winners Rouvres, Right One and Bubble Chic.

The Autumn Sale has reached new heights bringing together horses-in-training, young jumpers and flat yearlings and in 2019 produced a new record turnover of €11,038,000. With a depth of market over three days, the percentage of horses sold reached 82%, up 4%. The average price obtained a new record of €23,622, up 30%, with 17 horses sold for €100,000 or more.

Following the sale, Arqana president Eric Hoyeau said: "This was a great edition of the Autumn Sale, we're delighted. The three days showed the depth of the market, with international investment and interest at all levels.

"The strong market for horses-in-training then generated support for the young National Hunt prospects, which also was subject to new buyers. I would also like to underline the work done by Guillaume Cousin in Eastern Europe and our foreign representatives, at the origin of great stories like Pride Of Nelson."
