Expensive yearling Firnas (7 g ex Crystal Music by Nureyev) stayed on strongly to land The Entisar (Listed, 2000m) at Meydan on Thursday and in the process handed Darley’s superstar stallion Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) with his 193rd stakes winner.

The lightly-raced seven-year-old gelding stayed on strongly all the way to the line to come out on top of a battle with Sultarin Dubai (E Dubai) eventually beating him by half a length, while Casey Jones (Casamento) was another four and three-quarter lengths away in third. Dual Hong Hong Kong Group 1 winner Pakistan Star (Shamardal), who was having his first start in the UAE - finished another head away in fourth.

Purchased for an eye-watering 1,600,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2014, the gelding is out of Ascot Fillies Mile (Gr 1, 1m) winner Crystal Music (Nureyev).

Crystal Music produced six winners headed by stakes-placed trio Treasury Devil (Bernardini), Crystal Moment (Distorted Humor) and Crystany (Green Desert), while she is also the grandam of French Group 2 scorer Ocovango (Monsun).

Dubawi will stand at Darley’s Dalham Hall for an unchanged fee of £250,000 in 2021 and he was represented in Australia this season by his multiple Group 1-winning son Too Darn Hot, who covered his first book of mares this season at Darley’s Kelvinside base for a fee of $44,000 (inc GST).
