The late sire Empire Maker (Unbridled) was handed his 64th stakes winner when his daughter Mnasek (3 f ex Washington Bridge by Yankee Gentleman) produced a near foot perfect display to take out the UAE Oaks (Gr 3, 1850m) in breathtaking fashion at Meydan on Thursday.

Last seen running second in the UAE 1,000 Thousand Guineas Stakes (Listed, 1600m), the three-year-old filly glided to the front and quickly put daylight between herself and her rivals, eventually beating Nayefah (Super Saver) by an emphatic six and a half lengths. Last Sunset (Teofilo) was another two and half lengths away in third.

Purchased by Bruno Deberdt for US$28,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, before being bought by Al Rashid Stables for US$15,000 2020 Fasig Tipton Midlantic Spring 2YO Sale, the filly is out of Grade 2 winner Washington Bridge (Yankee Gentleman), making a half-sister to three other winners.

Washington Bridge herself is out of Listed winner Stirling Bridge (Prized), making her a half-sister to Listed scorer Jose Sea View (Badge of Silver).

Further back this is the same family as Grade 3 winner Early Lunch (Noble Table) and Listed-winning duo Man On The Go (Diablo) and Antler Lake (Candid Cameron).

Empire Maker’s progeny is headed by 13 Group 1 winners, including Pioneerof The Nile - the sire of US Triple Crown-winning Coolmore Stud shuttler American Pharoah.

Empire Maker died last year.
