Australian-bred South African Grade 1 winner Mustaaqeem (Redoute’s Choice) has been secured by South American Bloodstock Agency and will take up stud duties in Chile.

A winner of the South African Nursery (Gr 1, 1160m) at Turffontein in 2017, the Shadwell Stud-raced son of Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) was trained by Mike De Kock in South Africa, before being transferred to Kiaran McLaughlin in America in 2019, with his best performance coming when finishing second over a mile at Gulfstream.

Purchased by Shadwell for $1,750,000 at the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, the colt is out of multiple Grade 1-winning champion National Colour (National Assembly), making him a brother to fellow Grade 1 winner Rafeef, who stands at Ridgemont Highlands in South Africa.

National Colour - who died in 2018 - is herself a daughter of Listed winner Rainbow Cake (Mr Eats).
