Lord Kanaloa and Night Of Thunder add new stakes winners and Australia sires his fourth Group One winner

29 for Lord Kanaloa
Lord Kanaloa (King Kamehameha) sired his 29th stakes winner when First Force (5 h ex Rush Life by Sakura Bakushin O) won the CBC Sho (Gr 3, 1200m) at Kokura in Japan on Sunday. First Force led throughout to defeat Pixie Knight (Maurice) by half a length with a further three quarters of a length back to A Will A Way (Just A Way) in third. The race was run in a very quick 1:06.0 for the 1200m. Lord Kanaloa is the sire of five Group 1 winners including Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Tagaloa.

 

Group Double for Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow (In The Wings) sired a Group double at Hamburg with Reine D’Amour (3 f ex Reine Heureuse by Big Shuffle) winning the Sparkasse Holsten-Cup (Gr 3, 1600m) while another of his daughters, Sconset (3 f ex Sine Tempore by Monsun), took out the following race the Mehl-Mulhens Trophy (Gr 3, 2200m). Both fillies were previous Listed winners but with their success, Soldier Hollow has now sired 23 Group winners and he is the sire of 52 stakes winners overall. His stakes winners are headed by five Group One winners including Doomben Cup (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Ivanhowe.

 

Pretty Tiger leads throughout to take Prix Eugene Adam
Pretty Tiger (3 c Sea The Moon - Fast And Pretty by Zamindar) lead throughout under a great ride by Christophe Soumillon to win the Prix Eugene Adam (Gr 2, 2000m) at Saint-Cloud to give his Lanwades Stud based stallion Sea The Moon (Sea The Stars) his eighth Group winner. Pretty Tiger, who was sixth behind St Mark’s Basilica (Siyouni) in the Prix du Jockey Club (Gr 1, 2100m) at his last start, defeated Caprice Des Dieux (Declaration Of War) by two lengths with a further two lengths back to Adhamo (Intello) in third. Sea The Moon has sired 16 stakes winners in total headed by Group One winner Alpine Storm. 

 

First Group One victory for Broome
Australia (Galileo) notched up his fourth Group One winner when his multiple Group winning son Broome (5 h ex Sweepstake by Acclamation) led throughout under Colin Keene to win the Grand Prix du Saint-Cloud (Gr 1, 2400m) at Saint-Cloud on Sunday. Broome, who finished second behind Wonderful Tonight (Le Havre) in the Hardwicke Stakes (Gr 2, 1m4f) at Royal Ascot last time out, won by a length over the Aga Khan hombres Ebaiyra (Distorted Humour), with a further nose back to Gold Trip (Outstrip) in third. The favourite In Swoop (Adlerflug) finished a disappointing fourth. Australia has sired 19 stakes winners in total with his other Group One winners being Mare Australis, Galileo Chrome and Order Of Australia. 

 

Deutsches Derby to Sisfahan
Sisfahan (3 c Isfahan - Kendalee by Kendargent) sprung a surprise in the Deutsches Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) at Hamburg, giving his sire Isfahan (Lord Of England) his second stakes winner and first Group One winner. Siafahan, who was only a €20,000 purchase from the Colleville draft at the Arqana Autumn Sale in 2019, defeated the favourite Alter Adler (Adlerflug) by a length and a quarter with another one and three quarters of a length back to Imi (Tertullian) in third. Isfahan, winner of the 2016 Deutsches Derby, stands at Gestut Ohlerweiherhof for a fee of €4,500.
