Regally-bred Chruchill (Galileo) retired to stud in 2018 the winner of seven of his 13 starts, including four at Group 1 level which saw him accrue £1,426,057 in career prize-money.

Trained throughout this career by Aidan O’Brien, the son of Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) was beaten into third on his career debut at the Curragh, but kicked off his unbeaten seven-winning streak in the Chesham Stakes (Listed, 7f) at Royal Ascot.

Churchill’s second stakes victory came in the Tyros Stakes (Gr 3, 7f), which he then duly followed up with a win in the Futurity Stakes (Gr 2, 7f). On his next start he clinched his first win at elite level in the National Stakes (Gr 1, 7f), while his last victory as a juvenile came in the Dewhurst Stakes (Gr 1, 7f).

After being kept in training as a three-year-old, Churchill added the 2,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) to his CV, while he also landed the Irish equivalent two weeks’ later, while he also posted placed efforts in the Juddmonte International Stakes (Gr 1, 1m2.5f) and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Gr 1, 1m).

Churchill is out of the Listed-winning Storm Cat (Giant’s Causeway) mare Meow, making him a brother two to winners including high-class Group 1-winning filly and former stablemate Clemmie and Group 3 scorer Blenheim Palace (Galileo).

Meow herself is out of Group 1 winner Airwave (Air Express), who also produced Group Three winner Aloof (Galileo) and stakes winner Orator (Galileo) and a further two winners.

Airwave is a half-sister to Nunthorpe Stakes (Gr 1, 5f) winner Jwala (Oasis Dream) and the dam of this year’s Haydock Sprint Cup (Gr 1, 6f) winner Dream Of Dreams (Dream Ahead).

The stallion had 69 yearlings sell from his first northern hemisphere crop for an aggregate of £5,824,235 at an average of £84,409, with his top colt selling for £320,000, while his top-priced filly realised £350,000.
