Group 1 winner Heroic Valour (Fastnet Rock) retired to Raheen Stud in Queensland the winner of four of his 19 starts which saw him accrue $352,846 in career prize-money.

The son of Fastnet Rock (Danehill) was purchased by Te Akau Racing for NZ$400,000 at the 2015 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale from the Curraghmore Stud draft and he was first trained by the then Te Akau head trainer Stephen Autridge.

After making a winning debut at Trentham, the colt then landed his first stakes race in the Slipper Stakes (Listed, 1200m).

His big breakthrough came on his next start when he beat Wyndspelle (Iffraaj) in the Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Ellerslie - his final start as a two-year-old.

After being kept in training at three, Heroic Valour landed his first start when winning the Northland Breeders Stakes (Listed, 1200m) and despite not winning his next few starts, he posted some impressive performances including finishing third in both the Hawke's Bay Guineas (Gr 2, 1400m) and the New Zealand 2,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m), while he also posted a second place finish in the lucrative Karaka 3YO Mile (RL, 1600m) and Gold Coast Guineas (Gr 3, 1200m).

Heroic Valour also had a few near misses as a four-year-old including finishing second in both the Darley Plate (Gr 3, 1200m) and Lightning Handicap (Listed, 1200m).

Out of winning Nassipour (Blushing Groom) mare Myrrh, Heroic Valour is a half-brother to 2008 Doncaster Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Triple Honour (Honours List) and the dam of Group 3 scorer Sansom (Charm Spirit).

Heroic Valour has five lots catalogued at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and he covered 116 mares in his first season at the Queensland-based stud.
