Brendan and Jo Lindsay’s Cambridge Stud has joined forces with some of the major players in the global racing and breeding scene to purchase Group One winning three-year-old colt, Hello Youmzain.

A partnership between Haras D'Etreham, Cambridge Stud and SF Bloodstock have purchased the son of Kodiac from his owner, Jaber Abdullah, to race on next year with his current trainer Kevin Ryan.

The partnership are also the principal owners of European Champion Almanzor, who stands at Haras d'Etreham and Cambridge Stud.

Hello Youmzain recently won the Gr.1 Haydock Sprint Cup (1200m) and, prior to that, ran a game third to Advertise in the Gr.1 Commonwealth Cup (1200m) at Royal Ascot.

A Group Two winner at two, Hello Youmzain has won four of his seven career starts, and been placed on two occasions. 

He has been purchased principally with next year in-mind, where it is expected he will take part in the key Group One sprints – the Diamond Jubilee Stakes (1200m), July Cup (1200m) and possibly a return to Haydock in September.

Hello Youmzain is by the prolific sire, Kodiac, a three-quarter brother to Invincible Spirit by Danehill, who stands at Tally Ho Stud in Ireland for €65,000.

Hello Youmzain is among four Group One winners for Kodiac along with middle-distance star Best Solution and Cheveley Park Stakes (1200m) heroines Fairyland and Tiggy Wiggy.

Hello Youmzain is a half-brother to Group Two winner and Group One-placed Royal Youmzain, who was the champion two-year-old colt in Italy and champion three-year-old in Germany.

Out of the Shamardal mare Sparsha, the mare has left four named foals, all of whom are black-type performers, including the Listed winner Zuhoor Baynoona (by Elnadim), while it is also the family of Australian Group Two winner Shania Dane and star Hong Kong sprinter Scintillation.

His dam sire is the highly successful Shamardal, sire of 25 individual Group One winners, including three of the best two-year-olds in Europe this year in Pinatubo, Earthlight and Victor Ludorum.

"The key elements in his pedigree are those stallions - Danehill, Invincible Spirit and Shamardal, all of whom have had a massive influence on the Australasian bloodstock industry in recent years," Cambridge Stud chief executive Henry Plumptre said.

"Coupled with his performance, which has earned him a Timeform rating of 124, he is a great physical which is critically important in the Southern Hemisphere.

"We are very excited about the partnership and are looking forward with anticipation to next year."

In the meantime, Hello Youmzain will take his place in the Gr.1 Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes (1200m) at Ascot next week and will be ridden by James Doyle, who partnered him to victory at Haydock.

He will race alternately in the colours of Haras d'Etreham and Cambridge Stud.

The Cambridge Stud roster is headed by Group One sire Tavistock, supported by Almanzor, Embellish and Burgundy.
