The Jamie Richards-trained Festivity (3 f I Am Invincible - Mabsam by Stratum) kept her unblemished record in-tact with an impressive victory in the Gazley Mercedes Benz 3YO Stakes (1200m) at Trentham on Saturday.

After pulling hard in the early stages, Michael McNab got the filly to settle and after being asked for her effort it was a while before she was able to shake of the challenge from Magnolia Man (Reliable Man), but stayed on well to eventually beat him an easy two lengths.

The daughter of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) is out of Mabsam (Stratum) who was sold for $150,000 to Mongolian Khan At Windsor Park Syndicate by Yarraman Park Stud when carrying Festivity at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale in 2016. Windsor Park subsequently offered the filly at Karaka in 2018, where she was snapped up by Te Akau's David Ellis for NZ$410,000.

"We were mindful that there might be speed inside us, but I'm glad that Michael (McNab) put her in the race and worked across," said trainer Jamie Richards.

"She's an exciting filly and there's nothing but really good things in front of her, with a bit more time to mature. She drew the outside at Taupo, and wide again today, which has dictated how we've ridden her, but I've got a lot of time for this filly and it's a good effort by the team at home to get her here in such good order.

"She had three trials, this is her second start and first trip away, so doing it all on her first preparation. She didn't race as a two-year-old and I don't want to put too much pressure on her just yet, so we'll get her home and make some plans. There's a great bunch of owners here to celebrate the win and we're thrilled for them."

Mabsam's other two foals to race have also been winners, while she is half-sister to Group 3 winner Viking Hero (Elvstroem) and Romany Flyer (Catbird) - the dam of Thoroughbred Club Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) Invincible Star (I Am Invincible).

The filly's third dam is Queen Gypsy (Planet Kingdom) who produced dual Group 1 winner Innocent King (Tolomeo) and Group 2 winner Royal Snack (Lunchtime).

Further afield this is family of Group 1-winning duo Unearthly (Zabeel) and Invest (Dehere).

The filly's Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor) half-sister will be offered by Highview at the upcoming Karaka yearling sale. The filly is catalogued as Lot 75.
