The Jamie Richards-trained Fashion Shoot (3 f Savabeel - High Fashion by O'Reilly) impressively broke her maiden at the second time asking when scoring over 1200 metres at Te Rapa on Thursday.

The daughter of Savabeel (Zabeel) surged clear to beat Extortion (Casino Prince) by a length and a quarter, while Royce Roca (El Roca) was another half length away in third.

Purchased by Te Akau’s David Ellis for NZ$320,000 at Book 1 of the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sale, the filly is one of two winners out of dual Group 3 winner High Fashion (O’Reilly).

The filly’s third dam Spring Reason (Sound Reason) - the dam of Waikato Gold Cup (Gr 2, 2400m) winner Ultimate Aim (Centaine) and Group 3-placed Rendezvous (Centaine).

Fashion Shoot is another fine example of the success of Savabeel when mated to daughters of O'Reilly (Last Tycoon) with the cross producing 15 stakes winners, headed by four Group 1 winners; Costume, Diademe, Savaria and Embellish.

Savabeel, who was crowned New Zealand's champion sire for a fifth time last season and he is standing at Waikato Stud for a fee of NZ$100,000 (plus GST).
