The Peter and Dawn Williams-trained Slave To Love (3 f Savabeel - Moochi Me by Dubawi) made a winning debut over 1400 metres at Ellerslie on Thursday and in the process handed her brother a timely update ahead of him selling at next year’s New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka National Yearling Sale.

The three-year-old filly came into the race having finished seventh on debut, but she had no issues getting her head in front on Thursday, beating Felicienne - who is also by Waikato Stud-based sire Savabeel (Zabeel) - by neck, while Screamin Eagle (Pins) was another nose further back in third.

The filly is the first foal out of four time-winning Group 2-placed Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) mare Moochi Me.

Further afield Slave To Love hails from the same family as Group 1 winner Electrique (Zephyr Zip) and dual Group 2 scorer Fontelina (Testa Rossa).

Haunui Farm will offer the aforementioned Savabeel colt at next year’s New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka National Yearling Sale and he is catalogued as Lot 558.

Five-time champion sire Savabeel - who stood at Waikato Stud for $100,000 (plus GST) this year - has 43 lots catalogued for next year’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Karaka Yearling Sale.
