Savabeel filly to line up in Sunline Vase on Sunday

Dual Group 2-winning Amarelinha (Savabeel) will take another step towards the New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) when she lines up in the Sunline Vase (Gr 3, 2100m) at Ellerslie on Sunday. 

A winner of Eight Carat Classic (Gr 2, 1600m) in December, the three-year-old filly was last seen landing the Sir Tristram Fillies Classic (Gr 2, 2000m) on February 13 and she is sitting at the top of 2020-21 New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series. 

Amarelinha is the clear headline act in Sunday’s Sunline Vase, which is worth 6 points to the winner, 3 points for second and 1.5 points for third.

Another victory on Sunday would lift Amarelinha to 22 points, with Jamie Richards then aiming her towards the grand finale – the New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) at Trentham on March 20.
