Lisa Latta’s New Zealand Oaks placegetter set for Australia trip.

Saturday's New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) runner-up Charms Star (Per Incanto) could be set for a trip to Australia, with trainer Lisa Latta eyeing a tilt at the Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) for the three-year-old daughter of LA Stud-based stallion Per Incanto (Street Cry). 

"She had every chance and it was a great run," Latta said.

"We set her for the race and we were rapt to get that Group 1 black-type with her.

"She has come through Saturday pretty well. She is a little bit jaded, but she looks a lot brighter this morning."

Latta said they will make a definitive decision once the filly has had three weeks in the paddock. 

"We will put her out for three weeks and then get her back in a make a decision from there," she said.

"There is the Queensland Oaks, but I just don't want to make any definitive decisions yet."
