793 yearlings by 121 different sires catalogued for 2022 sale
Inglis announced on Tuesday that the catalogue for their forthcoming Premier Yearling Sale, which will be held from February 27 to March 1, is now online. A total of 793 yearlings by 121 different sires have been assembled for the 2022 renewal. Of those 425 are Super VOBIS nominated.
"We are very lucky here in Victoria to have many of Australasia's best breeders, stallions and yearling preparers which are the foundation for this spectacular catalogue for the 2022 Premier Sale,'' Inglis' Victorian bloodstock manager James Price said.
"Spring racing served as a great endorsement of the quality of the sale, with the likes of Nature Strip, Masked Crusader, Lost And Running, Bruckner, Douceur, Bella Nipotina, Blue Army, Sneaky Five, Semillion and many others amongst the graduates who distinguished themselves.
"The sale is always a great spectacle and it's a fantastic time of the year to be in one of the best cities in the world, Melbourne, so we are very excited for the sale.''
Recent Premier Sale graduates include Nature Strip (Nicconi) and Masked Crusader (Toronado) as well as young sires Ole Kirk (Written Tycoon) and Written By (Written Tycoon), who has 11 yearlings catalogued. Other stallions represented at this year's sale meanwhile include Capitalist (Written Tycoon), Exceed And Excel (Danehill), Fastnet Rock (Danehill), I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit), Pierro (Lonhro), Savabeel (Zabeel), Shamus Award (Snitzel), Snitzel (Redoute's Choice), Toronado (High Chaparral) and Written Tycoon (Iglesia) as well as leading international sires Kingman (Invincible Spirit), Medaglia d'ora (El Prado), Lord Kanaloa (King Kamehameha) and Camelot (Montjeu).
In addition to the first crop of Written By, 15 other stallions are represented by their first yearlings at the sale including Grunt (O'Reilly), Harry Angel (Dark Angel), Justify (Scat Daddy), National Defense (Invincible Spirit), The Autumn Sun (Redoute's Choice) and Trapeze Artist (Snitzel).
