Sells for €87,000 at Arqana. A filly by Shalaa was the most expensive lot on Monday's session of the Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale when bought by Equos Racing International and Broadhurst Agency for €87,000.

The bay filly is out of the Listed winning Anabaa mare Mytographie who has produced 4 winners so far including the stakes winner Mutin.

"I have bought her in association with Laurent Benoit for a group of clients, with a view to offer her at the yearling sales," said Nicolas Lefevre of Equos Racing.

"She is a half-sister to a black-type winner from an interesting Quesnay family and I like Anabaa as a broodmare sire. Shalaa's production seems very promising so we have a lot to look forward to."

Another 2 lots sold for over €50,000 on Monday, the first of these being Galileo mare Petite Noblesse who was bought for €74,000 by Mandore International Agency. The 10-year-old winning mare is out of Flower Bowl, a half-sister to Group 1 winner and successful former shuttle sire Lope De Vega. The dam of 1 winner to date, Petite Noblesse was sold in foal to Wootton Basset.

"I know the family a little bit now because I had the opportunity to buy her yearling in November," said Mandore's Nicolas de Watrigant.

"She's a lovely filly with the same cross as La Cressonniere. We're very hopeful for her. Petite Noblesse was bought for a partnership between Alain Jathiere and Pierre Talvard, and she'll now go to Haras du Cadran. She's a lovely daughter of Galileo from a great family, that of Lope De Vega, and she's in-foal to Wootton Bassett, which is great too."

Later on in the afternoon winning High Chaparral mare Algtaah sold for €57,000 to Blandford Bloodstock. A half-sister to Group 1 placed juvenile Wichita, a son of No Nay Never who ran third in this year's Dewhurst Stakes (Group 1), Algtaah was sold in foal to Zelzal.

Mon Monday 212 of the 277 lots offered sold for €2,089,000 at a clearance rate of 77%, slightly down from the 2018 figure of 79% when 211 of the 267 lots offered were sold for €2,072,500.

The average was comparable to the figure seen a year ago - €9,854 this year compared to €9,822 in 2018 and the median remained at €6,500.
