Jamie Piggott of Ardross Bloodstock said the competition has been so tough he has struggled to buy anything all week, but the young bloodstock agent finally got his hands on a yearling when he purchased a son of Zoustar (Northern Meteor) for $900,000.

"It has been tough," said Piggott. "There is always going to be competition at Magic Millions. We bought a really nice No Nay Never at the breeze-up sales as well (in October) and I'm flattered to get a Zoustar as well."

Offered by Newhaven Park and catalogued as Lot 715, the colt is out of winning Real Saga (Tale Of The Cat) mare Saga Of The Storm.

Further back this is the same family as Group 1 winners Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown), Seventh Street (Street Cry), American Gal (Concord Point) and Listed winner Americanize (Concord Point).

Piggott said he thought the Zoustars had a lot of quality.

"As a stallion we have a lot of respect for Zoustar in the northern hemisphere and I admire Sheikh Fahad taking him up there," said Piggott. "I think they are quality horses and it's showing down here as well.

"He is racy and I think he will be a better horse in a couple of months. He is a three-quarter to Queen Kay (for Toby and Trent Edmonds) who came out and won really well the other day. The mother was a winner at two."

The agent said the horse could follow his other purchases and go into training with Michael Costa or Kim Waugh.

"I will have to speak to the investors and see where we are going, but we have got a few in training with Michael Costa and with Kim Waugh as well, so it's possible that he will stay here on the Gold Coast."
