Having paid $750,000 for a colt by Dundeel (High Chaparral) at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January, James Harron parted with $380,000 for another colt by the Arrowfield Stud-based sire at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale on Sunday - just the second yearling he has purchased by the sire.

The colt will join Magic Millions purchase at the stable of Anthony Freedman, who has shown a good aptitude in training progeny of the sire being the trainer of Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Super Seth and Harron said this colt was very much built in the same mould as the stallion’s other flagship horses.

“He is very much in that physical mould of what we have seen Dundeels doing well at the track the likes of Super Seth and Castelvecchio,” said Harron, who placed his bids on the phone while sitting in the auditorium.

“He is a very athletic type of horse, medium size, lovely depth of girth and a lovely walking action with lots of purpose. He will be staying in Melbourne and going into training with Anthony Freedman.

“He isn’t a horse we will push to early but he should be a lovely late two-year-old and three-year-old type. This is the second one we have bought full stop altogether. We think the stallion is going really well and we are trying to produce stallion prospects and for such a young stallion to already have two sons which will be going to stud eventually - he is a stallion we are very interested in.”

On his tactics of bidding, Harron said: “Sometimes bidding on the phone is a bit easier. It is very busy today in the auditorium and sometimes it’s just a bit easier. I buy a few through Sebastian [Hutch] and we have a lot of luck doing that - so why not keep the luck rolling.”

Catalogued as Lot 116 and offered as part of the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft, the colt is the second foal out of three-time-winning Mossman (Success Express) mare Daisy Can Too.

The colt’s third dam, Princess Jocinda (Imposing), produced Group 1 winner Bawalaksana (Straight Strike) and Group 3 winner Damaschino (Last Tycoon), who in turn produced Group 3 winner Shaaheq (Redoute’s Choice).  Princess Jocinda also counts Workhard (Red Ransom) - the dam of stakes-winning trio Arbeitsam (Snitzel), Payroll (Not A Single Doubt) and Luen On Treasure (Dane Shadow).
