Only yearling by the sire to sell on Tuesday realises $140,000.
Local trainer Sue Murphy said she was happy to be more aggressive to secure a colt by Twin Hills-based sire Smart Missile (Fastnet Rock) on the first day of the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale on Tuesday.
Offered by Armidale Stud and catalogued as Lot 126, the colt is out of three time-winning Juene (Kalaglow) mare Take All Of Me making the colt a brother to Euclase Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) winner I'll Have A Bit and a further three winners.
Take All Of Me herself is the daughter of 2003 Sunline Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m) Tickle My (Perugino). Further back this is family of Group 2 winner Pearl Prince (Rare Pearl), Group 3 scorer Official Receiver (Bold Flip) and Listed winner Brass (Prince True).
Murphy said the colt said given the colt's pedigree and physical appearance she was happy to pay slightly over the $140,000 that the colt made.
"He was a lovely type and he attracted us as soon as he came out and the brother is also done well," Murphy told Racing.com. "There is a limit to what you can go to, but I thought we might go that little higher to try and purchase him.
"He has a top-page and a lot of black-type. This is the sort of gamble you have to take if you want to buy a nice yearling at the sales and we are happy with what we've got.
"He will go straight to the breakers at Ballarat tomorrow morning and then he will come back after that to be gelded and put in the paddock. Watch his progress."
Smart Missile is the sire of 94 winners this season and to date has produced 16 stakes winners headed by the Group 1 winner Maid Of Heaven and Group 2 winning pair I'll Have A Bit and Smart Melody.
