Arqana announced that in view of the current Covid-19 pandemic and resulting lockdown imposed on numerous countries, they are considering re-scheduling the Deauville Breeze Up Sale to June 2 - 3 or June 3 - 4. The sale had been scheduled for Mary 8 - 9. The breeze up session would still take place on the turf track at Deauville racecourse, with the actual sale the next day.

Arqana CEO Eric Hoyeau said: "In the midst of a crisis that is affecting us all, we are looking to adapt to the constraints and offer the best possible conditions for our vendors and buyers, therefore we have thought distancing the sale from the general lockdown and suspension of racing would provide a more favourable environment.

"The situation on the Covid-19 front is still rapidly evolving though, and we will wait until the end of the lockdown is officially announced to firm up this schedule. On behalf of all at Arqana, I would like to take this opportunity to extend a message of support to all those participants of the racing industry whose businesses are being hit by the epidemic."

A total of 165 two-year-olds have been catalogued for the Arqana Breeze Up Sale with sires represented including American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile), Exceed And Excel (Danehill), Fastnet Rock (Danehill), Lope De Vega (Shamardal), More Than Ready (Southern Halo), Shalaa (Invincible Spirit), Siyouni (Pivotal) and War Front (Danzig).
