221 mares sell during Sunday’s sale for $9,038,910.
At the close of trade on Sunday, Inglis reported 221 mares sold for an aggregate of $9,038,910 at an average of $40,900 and when taking into account Friday's Chairman's Sale the Breeding Stock Sales Series saw $32,500,000 traded, a result Inglis general manager of bloodstock sales and marketing Sebastian Hutch was extremely pleased with.
"We were absolutely determined to reward the fantastic support of us by our vendors by doing everything we could to help them to achieve a series of positive results, irrespective of the circumstances,'' Hutch said.
"We are relieved that we have been able to deliver a positive set of results to many participants and we continue to learn ways in which we can improve our service to clients.
"We still have a number of very appealing mares available for sale privately following both auctions and we will be working hard to place those over the coming days before moving onto preparing for our extensive series of sales in July.''
Of the 339 lots offered 224 of them sold producing a clearance rate of 66 per cent. 25 lots sold for $100,000 or more. NSW-based buyers spent $4,326,360 on 98 lots whilst Victorian-based purchasers bought 58 lots for $2,664,050. International buyers from the UK, UAE, Finland and the Philippines were active whilst New Zealand purchasers spent $517,000 on 12 lots and three lots were bought by Hong Kong-based buyers who spent $210,000. With a different format this year, direct comparisons to the 2019 sale are difficult.
