A total of 65 lots offered online
New Zealand Bloodstock’s annual South Island Sale of 65 yearlings is now live and available to view on NZB’s new online subsidiary platform, Gavelhouse Plus.
Bidding launched on Thursday and the first lot will close on June 7 at 5pm (NZT).
A possible stand-out among the catalogue is Lot 36. The colt is by Highly Recommended (Fastnet Rock) and out of Vannista Belle (Van Nistelrooy), who has already produced three winners.
Vannista Belle herself is a half-sister to Meleka Belle (Iffraaj) - who in turn produced multiple Group 1-winning champion Melody Belle (Commands).
Buyers will need to register on Gavelhouse Plus in advance, prior to the closure of selling and provide two credit references to gain bidding approval for the Sale.
All unbroken yearlings offered through the 2020 South Island Sale on Gavelhouse Plus are eligible for the Karaka Million Series featuring two NZ$1 million races – the Karaka Million 2YO (RL, 1200m) and the Karaka Million 3YO Classic (RL, 1600m), in addition to the NZ$100,000 Forex Karaka Cup (2200m), which graduates can contest for the duration of their career.
