Genesta sells for $47,850

Redoute's Choice (Danehill) mare Genesta was the most expensive mare to sell as part of the Arrowfield broodmare draft on Bloodstockauction.com when sold for $47,850 on Tuesday. 

The unraced four-year-old was served by Maurice (Screen Hero) last October and is out of the winning Hussonet (Mr Prospector) mare Line Honours who has produced four winners from as may foals to race including the stakes placed pair Extra Olives (Redoute's Choice) and Regatta Rebel (Redoute's Choice). 

The mare's second dam is multiple Group 1 winner Alinghi (Encosta De Lago). 

In total 22 of the 23 lots offered in the draft were sold and the second most expensive lot was Sweet Love (Dundeel) who realised $26,960. The mare who had raced twice for one placing was also sold in foal to Maurice. 

She is out of Group 3 winner Sharnee Rose (Nadeem) and her third dam is Listed winner Asawir (Last Tycoon) who produced 10 winners including Ghareeb (At Talaq) and his stakes placed sister Alharir (Jeune) who is the dam of Grade 1 winner Ertijaal (Hard Spun). Other Group 1 winners to feature in this family include Rewaaya (Singspiel) and Sense Of Occasion (Street Sense).
