Two of the five lots offered sold at the inaugural Tattersalls Online Sale which concluded on Monday.

The sale was topped by West End Girl (Golden Horn) who was bought for £420,000 by Badgers Bloodstock.

Trained by Mark Johnston who bought her for 95,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, the three-year-old daughter of Golden Horn (Cape Cross) has won twice in six starts including last year’s Sweet Solera Stakes (Gr 3, 7f) at Newmarket and finished third on her seasonal debut in last week’s Oaks Trial Fillies’ Stakes (Listed, 1m3.5f) at Lingfield. She is currently at odds of 20-1 for Tuesday’s Ribblesdale Stakes (Gr 2, 1m4f) at Royal Ascot.

West End Girl is out of the winning mare Free Rien (Dansili) who has produced one other winner to date. Her second dam is the Listed-placed Sant Elena (Efisio) who is the dam of dual Group 1 winner Reckless Abandon (Exchange Rate) whilst this is also the family of 2017 Prix Maurice de Gheest (Gr 1, 1300m) winner Brando (Pivotal) and dual Grade 1 winner Ticker Tape (Royal Applause).

The other lot to sell was two-year-old colt Igotatext (Ajaya) who was bought by The Cool Silk Partnership for 165,000gns.

A one and a quarter length winner on debut over six furlongs at Lingfield on 5 June, the son of Ajaya (Invincible Spirit) is the only winner of of Tifawt (High Chaparral) whilst further back the colt’s third dam produced dual Group 1 winner Kingsgate Native (Mujadil) whilst this is also the family of 1994 1000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) winner Las Meninas (Glenstal).

Igotatext is set to run in Saturday’s Coventry Stakes (Gr 2, 6f).

"A big team effort has gone into getting the inaugural Tattersalls Ascot Online Sale off the ground and we are very pleased with the results,” said Matthew Prior, head of Tattersalls Ascot Sales.

“There were a few technical glitches along the way which were quickly resolved and we will learn from today's sale, but overall it was a genuinely encouraging start for Tattersalls Online.

“We had wholehearted, enthusiastic support from the vendors as well as bidders from throughout the world, and we would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all who supported and participated in this new venture. In particular we wish all the connections the very best of luck with their purchases this week if taking up their engagements at Royal Ascot."
