Lot 443,  a colt by Candy Ride (Ride The Rails), topped the second and final day of the Faisg-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale on Tuesday when bought by Gary Young for US$875,000.

Consigned by Wavertree Stables the colt is out of the Giant's Causeway (Storm Cat) mare Causara who has produced one winner from one foal to race. His second dam is Grade 3 winner Lady Belsara (Boundary). The colt had breezed in a time of 10.1 seconds.

One further lot made over US$500,000 on Tuesday, a colt by Flatter (A P Indy) who was bought by Mike Machowsky as agent for US$600,000. The colt was catalogued as Lot 360

Over the two days 303 lots sold, seven per cent less than a year ago, for a total of US$23,572,500 which was down 20 per cent on last year's aggregate. The average of US$77,797 was down 14 per cent and median of US$40,000 fell seven per cent. 72 lots were passed in. In 2019 326 lots had sold for US$29,374,000 at an average of US$90,104 and median of US$43,000.

"Overall we're just thrilled with the activity we've observed the last two days," said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning.

"It was a really good horse sale. I think it restores some confidence among both buyers and sellers that with one sales company - us - there remains a legitimate, viable marketplace out there."
