Filly goes for US$270,000

A daughter of Not This Time (Giant’s Causeway) topped the second session of the OBS July Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age on Wednesday as Emerald Sales, Agent for Tobey L. Morton went to US$270,000 to secure the filly. 

Catalogued as Lot 640 and offered as part of the de Meric Sales, the filly is out of unplaced A.P. Indy (Seattle Slew) mare Exotic Design, who is herself out of multiple Grade 1 winner Exotic Wood (Rahy), making her a sister to stakes winner Key To Power. 

The next most expensive lot was a colt by Half Ours (Unbridled's Song) who was purchased by Dennis O’Neill for US$185,000. 

Catalogued as Lot 383 and consigned by Blue River Bloodstock, the colt is out of All About Ju Ju (Into Mischief), who is herself a half sister to stakes placed Gregorian Bay (War Chant).

At the close of trade, OBS reported that 155 horses sold for a total of US$3,869,800, compared with 225 grossing US$7,719,700 at last year’s second session. The average was US$24,966 compared with US$34,310 a year ago, while the median price was US$13,000, compared to US$17,500 in 2019.
