Select Sale to be held in Deauville in late September

The Deauville Select Sale, which will now take place in Deauville on September 24-26, contains 492 well-bred yearlings. The date change allows buyers to travel from outside Europe to attendthe three main European sales in a single stay.

The catalogue is divided into two parts: Part I will cover the first two days, and Part II the last day. The sale will start at 2 pm on Thursday 24 and Friday 25, and at 11 am on Saturday 26 September.

The progeny of a total of 98 stallions are represented, including Galileo (Sadler's Wells), Dubawi (Dubai Destination), Siyouni (Pivotal), Frankel (Galileo), Sea The Stars (Cape Cross), Lope De Vega (Shamardal), Camelot (Montjeu), Night Of Thunder (Dubawi), American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile)as well as the first crops Almanzor (Wootton Bassett) and Arrogate (Unbridled's Song).

Highlights include a colt by Frankel out of Group 1 winner Baltic Baroness (Shamardal), catalogued as Lot 30, whilst Lot 144 is a Frankel half-brother to young Group 1 winning sire Al Wukair (Dream Ahead). Lot 277 is a colt by Gleneagles (Galileo) who is a half-brother to Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Dream And Do (Siyouni) and Lot 288 is an Elvstroem (Danehill) half-brother to Coronation Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) winner Watch Me (Olympic Glory). Lot 251 is a Dubawi half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Sistercharlie (Myboycharlie) and dual Group 1 winner Sottsass (Siyouni) while Lot 199 is a brother to Magic Wand (Galileo) and her Group 1 winning half-sister Chicquita (Montjeu).
