Sea The Stars filly purchased for €820,000
Two fillies by Sea The Stars topped the BBAG September Yearling Sale on Friday headed by a sister to German Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Sea The Moon (Sea The Stars) - named Sea The Sky - who was purchased by Ammerland GmbH & Co. KG for €820,000.
Consigned by Gestut Gorlsdorf and catalogued as Lot 61, the filly is out of Sanwa (Monsun), who has produced two winners including Sea The Moon, who now stands at Lanwades Stud in Newmarket.
Sanwa herself is a sister to Group 1 winners Schiaparelli, Samum and Salve Regina, while she is also a half-sister to Listed winner Seventh Sky (King’s Best).
Later on in the day British-based bloodstock agent Alex Elliot went to €380,000 for Ashiana Star.
Offered as Lot 173 and consigned by Jamie Railton, the filly is the first foal out of Group 2-winning Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer) mare Ashiana.
Ashiana herself is out of Group 3 winner Ashantee (Areion), making her a half-sister to Group 3 winner Ashrun (Authorized).
A pair of yearlings by Coolmore Stud shuttler Fastnet Rock (Danehill) proved popular at the sale, with a colt by the stallion selling to Meridian International for €200,000, while David Redvers teamed up with Corntrop Bloodstock to buy a filly by the son of Danehill (Danzig) for €160,000.
The colt - who was catalogued as Lot 180 - is out of French Group 3 winner Daksha (Authorized) - the dam of Listed winner Vachement (Dubawi).
Further back this is the family of Coronation Stakes (Gr 1, 1m) winner Golden Opinion (Slew O’Gold).
Meanwhile, the filly by Fastnet Rock - named Fashion Love - is out of Group 3 winner Felicity (Inchinor), making her a half-sister to Group 2 winner Felician (Motivator) and Listed scorer Fly First (Big Shuffle).
Felicity herself is a half-sister to stakes-placed Fashion (Anabaa), the dam of Zoustyle (Zoustar), who landed six races including the Gold Edition Plate (Listed, 1200m).
