Yann Barberot shells out €290,000 for yearling
A filly by France’s current leading sire Siyouni (Pivotal) was the headline act of the final day of the Arqana Select Yearling Sale after Yann Barberot went to €290,000 for the yearling from the draft of Monceaux, the draft that was responsible for the top two lots earlier in the sale.
Offered as Lot 467 the filly is out of the unraced mare Special Gift (New Approach) who has produced one winner to date in the now Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Global Gift (Invincible Spirit), and is herself a half-sister to Group 3 winner Do The Honours (Highest Honor) being out of Listed winner Persian Secret (Persian Heights).
The filly’s third dam is the dam of Cassandra Go (Indian Ridge), a winner of the King’s Stand Stakes (Gr 2, 5f) in 2001 and the dam of Irish 1000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) winner Halfway to Heaven (Pivotal) who went on to produce multiple Group 1 winner Magical (Galileo).
