Global operation add five more yearlings to portfolio

Juddmonte Farms’ Kingman (Invincible Spirit) was provided his second seven-figure lot at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale after Godolphin went to 1,450,000gns for a filly by the Group 1-producing sire.

Catalogued as Lot 416 and offered as part of Eddie O'Leary's Lynn Lodge Stud and bred by his brother Michael’s Gigginstown House, the filly is out of Listed-placed Dream Ahead (Diktat) mare Sante. 

Sante herself is one of ten winners out of the Listed-winner Zeiting (Zieten), who has proved herself a handy producer, being the dam of German Group 2 winner Combat Zone (Refuse To Bend), fellow Group 3 scorers Royal Empire (Teofilo) and Scottish (Teofilo), who finished second in the Caulfield Cup (Gr 1, 2400m). 

She is also the dam of stakes-placed mare Bikini Babe (Montjeu), who in turn produced last month’s The Somerville Tattersall Stakes (Gr 3, 7f) La Barrosa (Lope De Vega), who is raced by Godolphin. Her other daughter Zut Alors (Pivotal) produced Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Precieuse (Tamayuz). 

The third dam Belle De Cadix (Law Society) is the dam of Group 3 winner Dolled Up (Whipper), and grand-dam of the Commonwealth Cup (Gr 1, 6f) winner Eqtidaar (Invincible Spirit) and the Group 2 winner and three-time Group 1-placed Massaat (Teofilo). 

"She was always a Queen and made a Queen's price there," said Eddie O'Leary. "I hope she is very lucky for Sheikh Mohammed, she is a smashing filly."

Sante, who was bought by Margaret O'Toole for 310,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale in 2018, had a Kodiac (Danehill) colt this spring and is in-foal to Invincible Spirit (Green Desert).

At the close of trade for Book 1, Godolphin spent 16,430,000gns on 22 yearlings at an average of 746,818gns.
