A colt by Coolmore Stud-based sire Uncle Mo (Indian Charlie) was the headline act on the third day of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearling Sale on Wednesday when Donato Lanni went to US$600,000 to secure the Lane’s End-consigned youngster.

Catalogued as Lot 1131 and bred in Kentucky by Kinsman Farm, the colt is out of winning A.P Indy (Seattle Slew) mare A.P. Dream, whose four winners are headed by British Listed winner Wind Fire (Distorted Humor).

A.P. Dream herself is out of dual Grade 1 winner Dream Supreme (Seeking The Gold) and she is also the dam of Grade 1 scorer Majestic Warrior (Distorted Humor), Grade 3 scorer Evolutionist (El Prado) and stakes winner Crystal Current (A.P. Indy).

The second-highest price of the day was paid for a colt by Into Mischief (Harlan’s Holiday) after he was purchased by Spendthrift Farm, where the colt resides, for US$475,000.

Offered as Lot 1147, the colt is a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Yara (Put It Back), dam of undefeated two-year-old stakes winner Moon Swag (Malibu Moon), while Yara is also the grandam of stakes winner Derek Adrian (In Summation).

Further back this is also the same family as Grade 1 winner Healthy Addiction (Boston Harbor) - the dam of fellow elite level winner My Sweet Addiction (Tiznow).

Wednesday's session saw 237 yearlings sell for an aggregate of US$9,062,300. The average was US$38,238 and the median was US$17,000. Through three days of selling, 726 yearlings have sold for US$25,452,500 at an average of US$35,059. The three-day median is US$15,000.
