A trio of Australian-bred mares add antipodean flavour to the Tattersalls December Mare Sale, which gets underway in Newmarket on Monday.

The first mare set to go through the ring is winning Eavesdropper (Kingmambo) mare Necklace, who was bred by Emirates Park and she is a sister to multiple Group 1 winner and now Darley sire Sepoy (Elusive Quality).

Catalogued as Lot 1574 and offered for sale by Hazelwood Bloodstock, Necklace is also a half-sister to Mulaazem (Dubai Destination), who landed the Autumn Stakes (Gr 2, 1400m) in 2013.

The mare is out of Canny Miss (Marscay) and she also produced Group 1 winner Camarena (Danehill) - the dam of fellow Group 1 winner Camarilla (Elusive Quality).

Camarilla herself produced multiple Group 1 winner Guelph (Exceed And Excel) - the dam of Group 2 winner and Group 1 winner Encryption (Lonhro). Further back this is also the family of three-time Group 1 winner Bivouac (Exceed and Excel).

The mare has produced two foals, a filly by Kodiac (Danehill) in 2019, while this season she foaled a colt by former Darley shuttler Brazen Beau (I Am Invincible) and will be offered for sale in foal to former shuttler Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer).

A few lots later, the Arrowfield Stud-bred Crafty (Manhattan Rain) will be offered by Tweenhills Farm as Lot 1598.

The mare won twice in her career headed by a victory in the Taj Rossi Series Final Handicap (Listed, 1600m) in 2014, while she also finished second in the Caulfield Classic (Gr 3, 2000m) later that year.

The daughter of Manhattan Rain (Encosta De Lago) has produced two winners from two to race and she is herself out of Spirited Dancer (Sadler’s Wells), making her a half-sister to Australian Group 3 winner Lunar Rise (Starcraft).

The filly’s third dam is Group 3 winner Petroleuse (Habitat) and she is also the dam of Grade 2 winner Peinture Bleue (Alydar), who produced dual Group 1 winner and successful sire Peintre Celebre (Nureyev), Group 2 winner Peinture Rare (Sadler’s Wells), Group 3 scorer Pointilliste (Giant's Causeway) and Listed winner Peinture Rose (Storm Cat).

Manister House sold her filly by Sea The Stars (Cape Cross) at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale to Sunderland Holdings for 300,000gns last month and she is being offered for sale in foal to Newsells Park-based sire Nathaniel (Galileo), meaning the resulting foal will be a three-quarters sibling to her only winner Royal Family (Frankel).

One of the high-lights lots of the catalogue is 2019 Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Winning Ways (Declaration Of War), who will be offered by Genesis Green Stud in foal to Juddmonte Farms-based star stallion Kingman (Invincible Spirit).

Catalogued as Lot 1726, the mare is out winning Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) mare Skip Along and her other stakes winner is Listed scorer Dreamtime Dancer (Danehill Dancer).

Skip Along herself is a daughter of French Listed winner Peony (Lion Cavern) and she is also the dam Listed winner Unfurled (Unfuwain).
