Anthony Mithen's Rosemont Stud enjoyed a good result at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale on Friday as Ciaron Maher and David Eustace paid the Victorian-based nursery $800,000 for a colt by I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit).

Catalogued as Lot 866, the colt is out of Group 2-placed Sebring (More Than Ready) mare Tahni Dancer, who is herself a Group 3 winner Tahni Girl (Redoute's Choice).

Tahni Dancer is herself out of Group 3 winner Tahni Girl (Redoute's Choice), making her a half-sister to Group 3 winner Maschino (Encosta De Lago) and Listed winner Kentucky Breeze (Pierro).

The colt's third dam is dual Group 1 winner Ballroom Babe (Citidancer) - the dam of Group 2 winner Just Dancing (Fusaichi Pegasus).

Rosemont general manager Ryan McEvoy told Racing & Sports Bloodstock they were confident the colt would attract plenty of admirers.

"We are ecstatic," said McEvoy. "He was a real showstopper. He was one of those horses that was a number one foal and graduated to being a number one yearling.

"He kept his shape and kept his quality the whole way through. Some horses you rate highly as foals, then go and go a different shape on you. But this horse was quality the whole way through and he is a typical I Am Invincible, they are just quality horses.

"We thought he would make that sort of money, those shiny colts with a profile by I Am Invincible with a pedigree are always going to make good money.

"We put a fair reserve on him and had him on the market well before the $800,000 mark, but we suspected he might make that sort of level."

McEvoy said the farm rate him so highly they are keen to keep a share in the colt for his racing career.

"He comes from a big two-year-old family and goes to the gun trainers of two-year-olds in Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. We are rapt to have Ciaron buy him and we are speaking to Ciaron and we might even try and stay in a leg, that's how much we loved him. He will be a fun horse to race for Ciaron."

Eustace told Racing & Sports Bloodstock he was a lovely looking horse with a good walk and they were very happy to be leaving the sale with him.

"The farm has got a great record with the sire and he was a cracking looking horse with a lovely walk and just ticked all the boxes," said Eustace. "He was a lovely physical and well conformed - we were over the moon to get him."

Maher and Eustace handed Aquis Farm-based first-season sire Invader (Snitzel) with his best result for the week so far when they purchased a colt by the son of Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) for $550,000.

Catalogued as Lot 857 and offered by Willow Park Stud, the colt is out of Danehill Dancer (Danehill) mare Swan River, making him a half-brother to Group 2 winner Victoria Quay (Dundeel) and four other winners.

Swan River herself is a sister Group 2 winner Lieutenant, while she also counts fellow Group 2 winner Count Encosta (Encosta De Lago) among her half-siblings.

Eustace said he had been impressed by Invader's stock and he rated this colt the best moving colt in the sale and was looking forward to getting him back to the stable.

"He was the best moving colt of the sale and he was a beautiful type," said Eustace.

"He really was an absolute standout for us and looks a proper racehorse already. He is a very athletic horse, who was beautifully proportioned - just a really lovely colt who we are very excited about.

"We have bought a couple of Invaders out of the paddock and we really like the sire and what he is producing and the stock has sold well this week."

Invader has enjoyed a lucrative week at the Magic Millions sale, selling seven yearlings for an aggregate $1,800,000 at an average of $257,143.
