New Zealand Bloodstock - Karaka 2021 - Book 1
Before the start of Karaka 2021, New Zealand Bloodstock managing director Andrew Seabrook Seabrook noted the buoyancy of the New Zealand economy and the fact that there is increased confidence in the industry which will hopefully lead to domestic buyers stepping up.
New Zealand buyers did indeed step up this year with their spend of NZ$31,660,500 accounting for 62 per cent of the sale turnover. This figure was 41 per cent last year when New Zealand-based buyers spent NZ$27,240,000. Hong Kong buyers accounted for 9.82 per cent of turnover last year and the figure increased to 12 per cent this year. The spend of Victorian and NSW-based buyers saw declines.
