Five-time winner Mo’s Crown (Uncle Mo) was the headline act of the Inglis Digital February (Early) Online Sale on Wednesday as Australian Bloodstock and Cody Morgan Racing teamed up to purchase the gelding for $110,000.

A winner of five of his 19 starts and close to $300,000 in prizemoney, Mo’s Crown was offered by Jason Coyle Racing (as agent) and was purchased with the $1.3 million The Kosciuszko (1200m) in mind.

“He’s a city performer and has also raced at Group level and has a NSW metropolitan benchmark rating of 80, these types of horses are hard to come by in the current market,” Australian Bloodstock’s Luke Murrell said.

“We think he could be a Kosciuszko horse in the Spring and based on the strong market at the recent Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, he looks like good buying at that level.”

Catalogued as Lot 62, the gelding is out of six-time winner Amber’s Crown (Excites) and he is a half-brother to stakes performer River Bird (Epaulette). He had originally been bought by Jason Coyle for $8,000 at the 2018 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.

The second top lot of the online sale was the lightly raced Written Tycoon (Iglesia) three-year-old Ord, who was purchased by Gangemi Thoroughbreds for $80,000.

Catalogued as Lot 65 and offered by Lindsay Park Racing, the gelding has been placed in all of his five starts and he is one of two winners of dual scoring Henny Hughes (Hennessy) mare Too Discreet.

Too Discreet herself is a out of Listed-placed mare Oh So Discreet and she has produced eight winners, headed by Group 1 winner Maybe Discreet (Shamardal) and Group 3 scorer Just Discreet (Exceed And Excel).

The Inglis February (Early) Online Sale saw 152 lots sell at a clearance rate of 82.61 per cent, while the aggregate at the close of trade sat at $1,918,050. The average was $12,619 and the median closed at $6,000.
