Annabel Neasham bought the top two lots at the Inglis Digital March (Early) Online Sale which ended on Wednesday and grossed $4.4 million.

The sale topper was Osamu (Exceed And Excel) who, was bought in conjunction with Brian Maguire and offered by Aquis Farm as part of a 34-strong racehorse reduction, and the three-year-old gelding will remain in training with Neasham having been bought for $340,000. He was offered as Lot 77.

"It's obviously part of Aquis' policy that the geldings don't fit their business criteria, so I knew for a few weeks that he was going to be offered on Inglis Digital as part of their racehorse reduction," Neasham said.

"That gave me some time to put together a group of existing clients to purchase him.

"I probably paid a bit more than I thought I'd have to, but the market is so unbelievably strong and I'm just delighted to have secured him."

Having begun his career in the stable of Chris Waller, Osamu raced nine times for four placings and since moving to Neasham's stable has had two starts for one second.

"Osamu has got to be one of the best maidens in the country, he's got good form around some serious Group horses," Neasham said.

"He works like a superstar at home and while he hasn't quite been able to deliver on raceday, I thought his first up run was exceptional off one trial and admittedly we maybe went a bit soon with him in the Inglis Sprint.

"So the plan now is to win a maiden with him to build his confidence and then target the Brisbane Winter Carnival."

Neasham also bought Maui Girl (Lope De Vega) (Lot 146) for $240,000. The five-year-old mare has won three times and placed in a further five of her 18 career starts and was fourth in the Newcastle Newmarket (Gr 3, 1400m) at her most recent start. She is out of the Listed winning More Than Ready (Southern Halo) mare Run For Naara, a half-sister to the Listed winning pair On The Course (Spinning World) and Tisket A Task (Broad Brush).

The Aquis Farm racehorse reduction, that included five racehorse shares, grossed over $1.2 million including Vital Verse (Medaglia d'Oro) (Lot 10) who was bought by Kody Nester Racing for $90,000 while Jack Pakis bought Palace House (Frankel) (Lot 78) for $75,000.

"It's been a huge sale and we're elated by the results," Aquis Farm CEO Shane McGrath said.

"Osamu is one of the best credentialed maidens in Australia currently and a flagship horse for Annabel Neasham Racing, so it's fantastic he'll continue to race for the stable.

"While racing geldings is not part of the Aquis policy, these horses are sound, well-bred, good types and ready-made racehorses."
