Listed-winning mare purchased by BBA Ireland for 75,000gns

Listed winner We Are Ninety (Thewayyouare) was the headline act of the Tattersalls Online Sale on Tuesday as BBA Ireland purchased the daughter of Thewayyouare (Kingmambo) for 75,000gns. 

Catalogued as Lot 4 and consigned by Brittas House Stud, the mare was offered with a foal by Coolmore Stud shuttler Calyx (Kingman) at foot, while she now carrying a foal to last season’s Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr 1, 2400m) and now Coolmore Stud-based sire Sottsass (Siyouni). 

The mare who produced two other foals to date, is out of unraced Sadler’s Wells (Northern Dancer) mare Brigids Cross, who is herself a sister to Group 1 winners Listen and Sequoyah - the dam of multiple top-flight scorer Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo) and Queen Cleopatra (Kingmambo), who in turn produced 2016 Bendigo Cup (Gr 3, 2400m) winner Francis Of Assisi (Danehill Dancer). 

Further back this is the same pedigree as Absolutelyfabulous (Mozart) - the dam of Group 1 winner Magician (Galileo). 

Meanwhile, BBA Ireland was responsible for buying the second top lot when they went to 48,000gns to secure Zee Zee Gee (Galileo), who was once again offered as part of the Brittas House Stud draft. 

Catalogued as Lot 6, the mare, who was offered in foal to former Coolmore Stud shuttler No Nay Never (Scat Daddy), is the dam of five winners headed by Group 3-placed Farzeen (Farhh). 

The daughter of Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) is out of Group 1 winner Zee Zee Top (Zafonic), making her a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Izzi Top (Pivotal) and Group 2 scorer Jazzi Top (Danehill Dancer). 

The mare’s second dam is 1986 Irish Oaks (Gr 1, 1m4f) winner Colorspin (High Top) and she is herself the dam of Group 1 winner Opera House (Sadler’s Wells) and Kayf Tara (Sadler’s Wells). 

At the close of trade, Tattersalls reported 19 lots sold for an aggregate of 354,100gns at an average of 18,637gns, while the median finished at 6,000gns.
