I Am Invincible filly out of Listen Here purchased by Vic Bates for $1,050,000.

After being initially passed in at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale last week, the filly by I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) out of Listed winner Listen Here (Elusive Quality) has been purchased by Vic Bates of Roughwood Park for $1,050,000, becoming the 23rd yearling at the sale to break the seven-figure barrier. 

Catalogued as Lot 392 and offered by Cressfield, the filly is a half-sister to Group 1 winner and now Darley Stud-based sire Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor) and Deep Field (Northern Meteor), who won at Group 2 level and now stands at Newgate Farm.  

"The new owners are going to have a lot of fun with her, she's an exceptional filly,'' said Cressfield's Wayne Bedggood. 

"She's got a fabulous temperament, she's very strong, the family is proven and she was very popular at Riverside all week but never really turned a hair.

"Cressfield and the ownership group of this filly are extremely grateful to Inglis for the hard work they put in behind the scenes to work with prospective buyers to get this filly sold.''

After some deals being done on passed in lots at the sale, the clearance for the auction now stands at an incredible 90 per cent. 

"To see Easter's clearance rate enter the 90 percentile is quite extraordinary and testament to the hard work our team has done with vendors and buyers since the final fall of hammer on Wednesday," Inglis' managing director Mark Webster said. 

"To now have 23 million dollar-plus lots is incredible, while the median figure of $280,000 is the highest in the history of the Easter Yearling Sale and speaks volumes for the strength and depth amongst the buyers.''
