Entries are now open for a high calibre broodmare sale set to be hosted on leading online auction platform Gavelhouse Plus.

Bidding on the dedicated broodmare sale catalogue is scheduled to launch next Wednesday 28 April and will run for a week, with the first lot closing on May 5 at 7PM (NZT).

Gavelhouse Plus has hosted a number of successful online sessions since its inauguration in 2020, the highlight being Spanish Whisper (Lope De Vega) fetching an online record price of $1,202,500.

“With recent interest fielded by the NZB and gavelhouse.com teams, a decision was made to open entries for a quality mare auction,” gavelhouse.com general manager Haylie Martin said.

“Run under gavelhouse.com terms and conditions, this is a great opportunity for vendors to offer any high quality breeding prospects they have sitting in the paddock or that are about to call time on their race careers.”

The entry fee this auction is NZ$400 plus GST, with a 5 per cent sale commission rate on all lots sold.

There will also be a minimum starting bid of NZ$10,000 on all broodmares catalogued.

Entries will close on April 27 at 12PM (NZT).
