The 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale gets underway on the Gold Coast on Tuesday and Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch believes the catalogue assembled for this year's renewal offers buyers an exceptional number of quality race fillies and broodmares.

"It is really exciting and there is obviously great anticipation about the compilation of mares we have tomorrow," Bowditch told Racing & Sports on Monday.

"This is the crescendo of the finest race fillies that have ever gone to market in Australia. It is something remarkable we have put together. Obviously the industry in Australia at the moment is in fantastic shape, the sales have been very strong and I think if the vendors walk in the ring with realistic expectations tomorrow they will have a very strong horse sale.

"I don't think we have ever sold as many Group 1 winners in one day at an auction, starting with Melody Belle and work through to Mizzy, Bella Vella and then work through to the supplementaries and then the Shadwell dispersal.

"It is really hard to put into words what we have got here, but it gives the global industry a snapshot as to what is going on here in Australia and gives everyone an opportunity to be involved and I think we are set for a very extraordinary day."

At the conclusion of last week's Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, 20 weanlings had sold as part of the Shadwell Stud Australasia Unreserved Dispersal for a total of $5,435,000 and this week 39 mares will be offered as the final part of the dispersal.

"Obviously off the back of the yearlings, weanlings for Shadwell this year, we were delighted with the way the weanlings sold last week," said Bowditch.

"We are over the moon with the mares we have here, they are an outstanding group physically and they are beautiful mares. The feedback we have had from the best agents in Australia and they all agree it is one of the finest collections of mares in a dispersal they have ever seen."

The highest priced weanling sold in the Shadwell dispersal last week was the Zoustar (Northern Meteor) colt out of Listed winner Bulbula (Shamardal), who was bought by Rosemont Stud and Bahen Bloodstock for $700,000.

Bulbula goes through the ring on Tuesday as Lot 829 whilst other mares to sell in the dispersal include dual Listed winner Madeenaty (Exceed And Excel) in foal to Too Darn Hot (Dubawi), Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) runner up Reemah (Redoute's Choice) in foal to Lonhro (Octagonal) and Group 1 winners Qafila (Not A Single Doubt) and Entisaar (More Than Ready) in foal to Dundeel (High Chaparral) and Too Darn Hot respectively.

"These sort of dispersals are rarities in the market, so having an unreserved dispersals tomorrow of bloodstock that has been put together over decades and a huge amount of investment has gone into this organisation here in Australia and for it all to be sold in hour and half tomorrow is very sad, but in saying that I am very excited to have the opportunity to offer them on Shadwells behalf and allow breeders globally to attack them in the ring tomorrow night."
