The second edition of the Fasig-Tipton Santa Anita Two-Year-Olds in Training sale was held Wednesday afternoon in the Winner's Circle at Santa Anita Park. The sale saw increases in average and median over 2019's inaugural sale, and a decrease in the buyback rate.

The filly by WinStar Farm's Tiznow (Cee's Tizzy) was offered by Pike Racing as Lot 36, and sold to Spendthrift Farm for US$250,000.

Out of the Empire Maker (Unbridled) mare Soot Z, the filly is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Amalfi Sunrise (Constitution). The filly worked an eighth in 10.3 during Monday's under tack show.

The sale's top colt came in the form of Bochombo (Street Boss), purchased by Peter Miller, agent for US$150,000. The dark bay of brown colt was offered as Lot 20 by Havens Bloodstock Agency, agent.

Bochombo broke his maiden at Santa Anita on May 23 in his second start, then ran second in Sunday's Fasig-Tipton Futurity. The colt is one of five winners from seven starters and the second stakes horse out of the unraced Storm Cat (Storm Bird) mare Parading Lady, herself a daughter of champion Sacahuista (Raja Baba) and a half-sister to multiple group stakes winner Ekraar (Red Ransom).

In total, 53 two-year-olds changed hands for US$2,981,000. The average was US$56,245, up from $54,630 in 2019. The median jumped 40 per cent to US$50,000 from US$30,000 at the sale's inaugural edition, while the RNA rate fell 14 points to 22.1 per cent. Eight juveniles sold for US$100,000 or more.
